"This house would ban the sale and consumption on shark's fins instead of imposing sin tax."
In the first motion, i took part as the deputy leader of the opposition.
I like being a part of the opposition side because personally, i do prefer imposing sin tax on the consumption and fishing of shark fins rather than
banning it. I'm not saying that i would allow the population of sharks to
subdue but rather, it is the very reason why i prefer the imposition of sin tax.
Just like the argument i presented during the debate, i do believe that the
black market poses a bigger threat than the imposition of sin tax. We all know
that the black market is out of the government's reach and who knows how many
sharks may die due to the illegal fishing of their fins if the banning may be
imposed. Just like what they say, "rules are made for the ones who break them".
